US’ closure of Chengdu consulate completely complied with the Chinese order – Global Times

China's influential news outlet, Global Times, Editor-in-Chief Hu Xijin responds to the US' closure of Chengdu consulate, confirmed by the Foreign Ministry earlier this Monday.

Hu tweeted out: “From what I learned, US' closure of Chengdu consulate and personnel withdrawal completely complied with the requirement of the Chinese side. China also took over the premises in a civilized way. I hope this kind of observance of a rule can be expanded to broader China-US relations.”
